Historic Charleston Foundation is an advocacy organization advancing the mission of historic preservation. Founded in 1947, in addition to advocacy, community planning, education and the preservation of properties, HCF also owns and manages the Aiken-Rhett House and the Nathaniel Russell House.

Historic Charleston Foundation's mission is to address modern society's needs - mobility and transportation, tourism, livability and growth - while protecting and preserving the architecture and material culture of Charleston and its Lowcountry environs.
